As a dedicated high school student with hands-on experience managing a mobile auto care business, I’ve come to appreciate the importance of resource conservation and responsible waste management. An avid hiker and volunteer at my local water research and cleaning facilities, I’ve seen first hand the devastating impact polythene products can have on natural habitats. Motivated by this, I started Polythin Foundation to raise awareness about the often-overlooked dangers of polythene waste. Although New Jersey has banned single-use polythene bags, these products still make their way into our daily lives and, alarmingly, the state doesn’t offer any system to recycle them—meaning a single polythene item in the recycling bin can lead to the entire batch being tossed into the trash. Through this foundation, I aim to highlight these critical issues and inspire collective action toward more sustainable practices.
